Professional Experience

 

Sprint: Senior Manager in Network Development & Engineering          2004 – Present

Successful lead complex projects throughout the development life cycle (ideation, analysis, design, build, test, and rollout). Responsible for developing and maintaining efficient lab certification processes of new software loads and software patches.  Manage network infrastructure capacity post deployment to support traffic growth and avoid any network failure. Consistently demonstrate outstanding leadership in managing team’s limited resources while keeping the team motivated to meet aggressive timelines within allocated budget. Lead contract negotiations, requests for proposal (RFPs), and vendor selections.

·  Led the design, deployment, integration, and evolution of a complex multi-vendor VOIP Core environment.  The VOIP core included the subscriber database (IMS-HSS), call control function (CSCF), Media Resource Function (MRF), telephone application server to provide call features (TAS), and Session Boarder Controller (SBC)

·  Defined Sprint’s core network architecture to ensure network readiness for deploying Rich Communication Services (RCS) and Voice over LTE (VoLTE).

·  Successfully managed all project progress updates and escalations with executive management as well communication across the different organizations (IT, Marketing, Product, and Device teams)

·  Developed technology planning and roadmap for the VoIP Core, built business cases to support roadmap, and obtain consensus/funding from executive management. 

·  Successfully managed VOIP Core infrastructure capacity planning and certification activities for software and hardware in the certification lab and out in the field

·  Led the design, integration, and launch of several major VOIP services over CDMA, Wi-Fi, IP-PBX, and LTE (Google Voice integration, Small Cell, VoWiFi, Mobile convergence with IP-PBX, etc.)

·  Led the design and deployment of virtualized cloud environment to host multiple applications (Cisco UCS with VMWare hypervisor and HP KVM).

·  Effective budget forecasting, ensuring actual spending is within allowable variance. 

·  Led number of large RFPs and was able to achieve an average of 50% reduction to the unit cost and the total cost of ownership (TCO)


Sprint: Senior Manager in Research and Development              2001 – 2004

Positioned Sprint as a leader in the wireless standards by capturing the company’s requirements and implementing them into the wireless standard organizations by negotiating and collaborating with other wireless entities.  Developed and maintained a technology roadmap across a number of wireless standard bodies for new technologies and services and that resulted in tactical plan to implement these strategies.
